DIY „How To“ bezel paint mod

Post by dj57 »

This is the so called DIY Molotow bezel paint mod.

I have a RLX Noob v9 which it had the known bezel issue.

I found months ago this DIY bezel paint mod on RWI and decided to do it (since it should be very simple), either.

The only think what you need is a Molotow 227HS metalic silver pen, and a thin paint brush, a toothbrush, a plastic foil or so.
Image
So I ordered a Molotow ONE4ALL Acrylmarker Acryl TWIN, 1,5 - 4 mm from eBay

You don’t have to remove the bezel etc. The only thing I removed was the bracelet for more stability.

Start by cleaning the bezel bevor beginning with painting. Just to remove old dirt, dust etc. I did it with a toothbrush.
Image
Then squeeze out a little puddle of paint on a plastic foil and then paint directly on the bezel. Apply the paint into recesses.
Image
First I painted the hour markers because I just wanted to test whether it was that easy as mentioned.
Image
Then I wiped the excess paint with my thumb from the bezel after ~30 seconds.
Image
Then I painted the bezel numbers etc.

I did 2-3 layers (~30 Minutes between each layer in order to let them dry).

At the end I cleaned the bezel with a damp cloth.

But you can easily remove the paint from the bezel, crystal etc. with alcohol pad or so.

Maybe I‘ll paint it one more time but even now the result is extremely good. Image

Thanks for watching.
