Boley Flume F53 question

Post by Natas78 »

Hi guys,

I was lucky to buy this watchmakers’ lathe a few years ago, although incomplete it has been a great tool to own.
One thing bothers me and that’s how the motor was “repaired” or should I say botched.
Originally it has a lever to adjust speed and direction, this was apparently removed for some reason.
Can it be repaired?
These motors are rare and I have an electro motor rebuild shop nearby, I just don’t know if he would be able to repair this particular lever.

Some pics:

Is the base of the lever still there?
In that case someone could solder an extension
