PMs stuck in outbox

Post by Picksk »

Hello friends,

I have noticed that some of my sent PMs or responses sent to received PMs get stuck in outbox for varying period of time, some sit there for a few mins to Having couple stuck in there for more than couple of weeks now. Is someone else having the same issue? Maybe it’s my internet? Not sure. Thanks!

Maybe they stay in there until the end user reads them? Then they are “sent”

Hmm...but then again, how is the end user going to read it if they are stuck in my outbox? Idk man, it’s not a big deal, just one of those things that is more annoying than anything lol

I’ve noticed the same thing from time to time. Not sure of the reason. Make sure you fill in the subject field - I think that might have an impact on whether they go out sometimes (particularly if you are not ‘responding’ to a message).

Picksk, nje2791: on this forum PMs stay in your "Outbox" until they are read by the recipient. Then they are moved to "Sent messages" and that's how you know your PM was read. So, if the recipient does not read whatever you send him for a month, the PM will stay in the "Outbox" for a month.

Exactly.

They are on your outbox AND on his Inbox. Both things at the same time.

It's meant to be like that so people know if their PMs have been read.

Most forums work like this.

However, if the member has email notifications (like me), they can read the PM in their email and it will still show in your outbox until they click on it to respond to you. Hence, they may read it immediately in their email and not respond for a week, leaving you to think they haven't read it.

That's like reading a WhatsApp message from the notification of your phone without clicking on it Image some people might use it to avoid opening a specific message and replying to someone.

That's why I didn't mention it.
