Maybe some jeweler could help. I know they use steam guns for jewelry cleaning... Also, some good ultrasonic cleaning in alcohol or similar bath... Just shooting ideas... After that, UV exposure...

He thinks you want to clean dirt, pathogens, bacteria, virus etc

Argh... My fault

Depends on engraving and caseback itself... Lathe, then polish... Sometimes it works, depending on how deep it is...

I would bet on some old omega movement, dating before co-axial era...
Pitty to destroy a case...
I used to remove inscriptions on casebacks very often... Lathe and polishing... Usually works well, just very sharp lathe bits and patience.

Of course, plenty of them are ruined in learning process

It is rather deep, but I fear that I will toss the damn thing now that it is acting up. It stops after ten minutes and I am tired of it.

It is an Omega co-axial Speedmaster with the Si14 something and I was thinking of stuffing a reliable movement of my own in there and call it a day.

Simply kick out all the shit inside and install a real thing, manual. New dial and hands as well, neutralize the whole thing and use the case for something better than the modern Swiss crap. I can easily live without the crap they make these days.

Guess I will simply toss it and recycle the steel.

If you send it to me, I will fix it for you. .....

Post a pic of the caseback and clasp...

I do have a lathe that I have used to sterilize a caseback. The clasp will probably involve hand files and sandpaper....

My question seriously though is will this be worth the international postage. Anything tracked out of the US now is $50+. Cheap mail probably $30+
