SF 240, 16’’’ eight days power reserve, first versions built since ca. 1936.

- I have seen a couple of movements with a watchmakers mark of 1938. I was wondering how old those movements were

SF-N 9, 9 1⁄4’’’ x 14 1⁄4’’’ (in an Angelus advert from 1935 mentioned as 10 1⁄2’’’ calibre) (21x32mm), ca 1930, small rectangular calibre with eight days power reserve (actually with ten days power reserve).

10 day power reserve!! Moving project up the list.

I am aware of that movement,most of these including the 240 were not meant to be used in wrist watches as you well know,so shape and size was not so limiting for them.I dont know how thick that is but i can only see it in a large square Cartier type style (Santos or Tank) case if it fits !

SF-N9 is 6mm thick. I’m thinking of building a case with hand files and a drill.... yes I’m a sucker for torture

You can try first with some case already made and try to reshape ,then you can go to the torture room!!
