Has anyone ever seen a 240 variant like this? I've had this for a while now and it's certainly a different configuration than I've seen before. Different winding wheels, a long seconds bit, the intermediate setting wheel that is usually two stacked gears is a single gear, and etc.
The case back pushes the alarm setting knob down when it's closed which disarms the alarm.
Snap on dial.
Note the long seconds pinion
Note the single gear where the stacked one usually is.
It's a shame that this movement is totally wrecked. Missing escape wheel, both horns broken off the pallet fork, destroyed hairspring and both balance pivots are broken, and etc. I've thought about sacrificing a keywind movement to fix this one.

Indeed an unusual configuration! I have seen something like it before, but still not exactly the same. Interesting movement!
Every time I see a movement in this condition, I wonder how the heck anyone can fuck up a movement like this? It's a pity and sad to see.

Yes,of course,I didn't look carefully enough the first time.I haven't seen anything like it before.unreformed66 wrote: ↑October 14th, 2018, 6:51 pmHe had a pocket watch with an Angelus 240 in it but it is different from this movement. Look at the winding wheels in this one. Notice the extra one?

Wow.
Thanks for the heads up SN13 . ive been away / busy with work lately.
Needless to say, this is a very cool piece. I might have some parts that IMO are worth parting to rescue this feller.

Re: Odd Angelus 240 movement
I guess this watch falls into my "one of these days" pile..lol. I stay so busy with other people's stuff that I rarely get a chance to do any of MY projects. I think this one is worth doing simply because it's from a cool retailer and it's the only one that I've ever seen. Evidently it's the only one that ANYBODY has ever seen although I'm still hoping that somebody will be able to shed some light on it for me. It' can't be the only one, there have to be more somewhere. Provided they survived that is. This one almost didn't....
