I was going to wind the watch and set the time a few days ago when I felt that the setting friction was a bit too hard, AND I noticed something under the crystal....
I thought live and let live, but my OCD kicked in a day later and I tore the whole thing apart again. Replaced the cannon pinion and located the speck inside the crystal, damn....it was IN the crystal! I searched my cabinets and fortunately there was a crystal with the correct dimensions and curve.

It is not the finest presentation box the world has seen, but it is all about the watch and later on I will suggest that we can drink a little wine and burn the box.

I'll quote my own post.

It all went very well, I expected him to be surprised - really surprised, but he opened the box and turned away, crying. It was a long time wish, but he didn't want to bother me with a task like this, so I guess it was a success. I really digged his reaction, it was a summary of our 33 years of friendship.
He cried and made me cry.

Moments like this are what this hobby is all about, not about making or customizing watches/clocks per se,but about moments of hapiness and satisfaction we share in the process.

Made by Athaya, who has the file from my first miniegi, and paint by myself.

Oh, I once received a dial for the mini egi from Athaya but the subdial alignment was off.
Have you checked the clearance?

grrrrrrrrrrr not yet, I was confident regarding the first experience...I'm going to check

I have a doubt...not sure but the second pin seems to touch the edge of the second hole when the hour/min pin seems centered. I will try to assemble it on tomorrow...
