Radium Concern?

Post by atkin68 »

I've been picking up some cheap travel and car clocks just to practice working on movements of different kinds. I don't know how old this one is - is it possible the lume is radium and would be harmful for me to come in contact with the hands?

Thanks for any help,
Dave

I'm no rocket scientist but that lume doesn't look like Radium to me and even if its tritium I think you would have to make a big effort to get the dust into your body. But again not a rocket scientist.

It's most likely too new, but spray them with a clear coat and you are safe.

You’re propably safe as long as you don’t scratch and sniff 😅

This has been posted in the chat not so long ago - entertaining watch:

(It doesn’t look too much like radium lume anyway)
„I asked her for gasoline, she gave me water...“

Me, side of the road, pushing my bike.

Thanks everyone. I'll give it a clear coat and proceed.
