It's very important to have something (hobby/sport/learning) in life which cheers you up.
I'm retired too. My life time aim was to retire at 50, missed this aim by some years, but I'm fortunate to have so much interests that I struggle to find the time for all.
The only sad thing at these Corona times is that my main life time aim to move somewhere with warm weather, sunshine and a beach isn't possible at the moment and if things go worse, maybe for several years. First world problems
Best advice I can give to handle sad feelings and depression is to do sports. Running, going to a gym, swimming, etc. keep you fit and in a good mood. There is no better high than a runners high
