For real... it was the second 240 I found. Lucky plaza... there is a quirky little antique store with an even more quirky store owner.

I asked how much... he said not for sale, but come back tomorrow. I ended up getting it for akira23 ..the price i honestly forgot. Not dirt cheap but on the lower reasonable side. Every time I go back o visit the shop but no new clocks. If memory serves me correctly. He had JLC clocks, pierce watches and as well as other vintage clocks

Funny thing is I’ve spent hundred of hours hitting flea markets and antique stores and have found only 2 others in person. For this one, I was window shopping ... I think perhaps visiting some of the watch shops to compare prices here vs. SG and there it was staring through the window display at me.

Couple of years ago while living in California, I stopped by an antique store. It was huge. It had several dealers, but only one person in charge of sales. I spotted a watch, nothing special about it, except for the bracelet. Just by the color of the metal, I could tell it was a Rolex bracelet. It was a 1967 R&I, USA made river bracelet made for Rolex. I bought it for $40 give or take.

It is hard to explain, but vintage Rolex had a different tone. It proved right on that occasion. The color has also helped me to identify some bad fake ones on pictures.

By the way, I am not saying that it is unique. Some builds from Vietnam have nailed it.

I guess we will have to do some in-person research when I come to Texas. ;)
