People love variations of the typical 6497 and even more if they are Hamilton instead since they look great.

The key selling point is being able to use it on the regular case sets.

The 917 is beautiful and sturdy. I’ve only worked on one over the years and I was impressed.

I have both a bunch of my own and some from an estate, 10-15 in all and they will be serviced when sold.

Could you assure that a dial for 6497 will fit perfectly on a 917?

I’m planning to order a new dial an I’d like to fit it in the two movements and decide after that the project I will build

But hands and winding stem fit
The Hamilton is such a lovely looking movement compared to a 6497 there is no competition
Dial stickers actually work

Stickers are good enough for me. I’m not thinking on using dial feet. I should have asked specifically about the distance between hours cannon and seconds at nine

I can assure that stem are compatible but I can assure that hands doesn’t fit at all

I agree with aesthetics. 917 is my favorite movement but it’s difficult to source hands

Gorgeous movements. Here is one of my builds from the past. The 917 is so nice it should be worn in place of the dial to showoff all its beauty.

Anyone thinking about it, should grab one, especially since the master is going to service it.
