Added plate for 5" chuck. Also have 3" 3&4 jaw chucks...
You can also notice that direction lever is moved to front side...
List of mods so far:
Taper roller bearings mod,
New longer shaft and accompanying items on cross slide to perform extended travel,
Lever operated tailstock camlock,
Added bearings to tailstock handwheel, cross slide handwheel, compound handwheel,
All handwheels have re-setable dials,
Tapered sadle gibs,
BLDC motor added, transmission pulleys HTD 5M so spindle is driven directly,
RPM sensor transferred in spindle housing,
Leadscrew direction lever transfered to front side,
New quick change toolpost made of steel (from scratch), saddle lock added,
Made adapter nut so now can mount dividing plate on spindle,
New adapter plate for 5" 3 jaw chuck,
Dish is drilled and modified to adopt reservoir for coolant,
Cast iron feet ( milled and brushed) to raise up whole machine about 10 cm...
Pictures, few more..
Still need some tuning.
Rusults so far:
Total runout measured on spindle +/- 0.005 mm (so needle jumps in 1/100 mm range on dial indicator)
Parallel deviation, measured on shaft approh length 250mm :
Measured on top of shaft max 1.5/100 mm
Measured on front of shaft max. 3/100 mm
So I'm happy so far
Still need to re-align tailstock.
