HF year 1 vs Year 11

Post by Tanukjaju »

I might be off on the exact details but here are some thoughts.....

- US priority mail within the country was $4+.... today it was $8+ Yes it’s cheaper to buy many items direct from China as shipping is literally a few cents for many small to medium sized items
- Cheapest small package to Europe was $4+.... now it’s $12+
- cheapest express mail international used to be $35ish by EMS at the post office. They now only offer FedEx which is probably $100. Now priority mail international is between $50+ to most of the rest of the world.
- Clone 6497s.... $30ish... still the same.

I find shipping out of Canada is very expensive. It has stopped me a number of times trying to send an item down to the U.S. for some mods by some of our fellow members. :(

RE: HF year 1 vs Year 11

I'm way more detailed oriented then HF year one. Not just in the watch world. I see the smallest differences in things that I would never have noticed in the old days. My friends think I'm O.C.D.

I guess we are lucky around this neck of the woods.

Shipping for small items is 6€ and 10 years ago was 4-5€

Registered mail within Poland from $2. World wide registered mail from $5 at current exchange rates. Pretty reasonable. 11 years ago international started at less than $3.

So it cheaper for me to have something shipped from Poland than within the US!

Looks that way.

I wonder how much it actually costs to ship something from China - I mean a one off package, not the bulk pricing of $0.10/letter that some sellers charge.
