ink for ceramic dials. needed help!
Dear friends, this is my first post. i didn't know that is some vintage ceramic dials they use some time easy removable paint on logos. so I wiped the logo off, accidentally. I need to restore it. Any idea what paint was used in antique ceramic dials for logo? the letters are pretty small. so need something thick not quickly to dry. already TRIED different paints no success, they dry immediately or leave blurred edges. that was big golden Rolex pocket watch. i would like to use something that resembles antique look, that was on old pocket watches. thank you for all your suggestions!

My understanding is that these are pad printed. Google pad printing watch dials on you tube to see the process of how they are done.

It is pad printed... However, if you want to try, consider acrylic paint for artists...

Unfortunately, I don't do pad printing anymore which requires making of new printing plates.aris.dayton wrote: ↑February 5th, 2020, 9:13 pm if i remember correctly @pvirus can do pad printing.
Unless the customer can handle the length of time to make the printing plates.
To make new printing/molding plates, I need help from the second party.
Which, they took so long to make the process of making the printing plates.
FYI, they are using chemical etching method on making the printing plates.
Instead using chemical etching, I've been thinking if it can be made with laser engraved.
But I'm guessing using laser engraved would be cost more expensive.

I bought many pads different sizes, I plan to use my CNC as printer. I have laser also for plates. Will try to do it next week. My Rolex dial is still without brand mark.
will post some tries. Too busy at the moment... I was hoping COVID will make me less busy, but not

But if someone recommend some ink.... I think it should be any that can be diluted with thinner, acetone based. I tried toy model, but they dry too fast, UV they do not keep the shape. Typography paint also dry too fast. I even tried to open big marker pen...
and use marker paint....
Also tried to make rubber stamping as for stamps for paper... ok but quality not as Rolex... I need Rolex quality...
I admired how they almost 100years ago print on enamel and bake it and it remained superfine.....

Pad printing ink is very specific, dries fast, need dedicated solvent...
