Hello From Chicago
Long time lurker and first official poster! I actually tried to join the original forum but my registration kept being bounced! When I learned of this place I quickly signed up. I took up watch repair because of mostly seeing everyone from HF having fun and I decided to do it too. Currently, I am working on a few watch projects. If anyone is curious about them... Don't be scared to ask!

Welcome!
Working on various projects at once, that's HF DNA
Do you have any picture of those watches?

Re: Hello From Chicago
Ha, I guess I do have the HF genes!
I just have pictures of movements and parts at the moment!
I lost my first Modded watch in downtown (it was a seiko 5 modded to look like a railmaster) it had a cordovan strap that I made myself too D:
second watch was a vintage buler skin diver watch case that I managed to fit an ETA 2824 by removing the automatic winder part and just made it a hand winder. The dial was a military field dial.
Got tired of that look so I decided to buy vintage Diver watches that don't work and strip them just for the case and bought some dials from the seiko community. Mix and match until I find the right combo!
Recently bought a Longines Legend Diver watch case and trying to find someone to make a custom dial for it.
Ultimate dream would be recreating the longines nautilus and getting that machined and put together by me

Here is a few pictures I found of done watches but never quite "finished"... Probably because I really crave those classic 60's divers.

Re: Hello From Chicago
Chicago is my favorite city in the US. (Aside from traffic)
I’ve spent a ton of time there. My wife and I love it so much that we did a steakhouse and bar vacation there last year.

Re: Hello From Chicago
Great builds. You’ll definitely fit in here. You are not far from a custom build.... borrow elements of favorite watches and voila.
Oh... you are missing a vintage 3646 from your creation
