Best shipping method from Italy to USA

There’s a watch I want in Italy and the guy selling has never shipped to the USA before.
What is the best way and what to put on the forms?

I use EMS from EU to USA, normal post is just fine, but EMS is more express, they (here in Bulgaria) does not want any declared value
its around 30$ and arrives at your door.
Any other dhl, ups.. will probably end in customs
EMS however does not have insurance

Well, EMS should refund 10x shipping cost if they loose a package... Like any postal service.
