Any tips for a newbie? I've bought NW's resin kit ... have a couple of troy dials to fill ...
I did it with NW resin kit too, with the small bottles it is easy to fill the indixes. I use not the resin it comes with because I got a lot of problems by mixing the resin because it didnt gets dry after 5 days it still was sticking. it is very important to use the correct amount of resin and hardener. this from Gordon can help you very much

I thought I'd have a go at some bin bin hands today, lots of failed attempts at getting the colour nice and even and then when I thought I had it the colour just came off when i touched them, no idea why, so i started again (again), this is probably take 20, don't really know why but this time it seems to have worked and the oxidation seems to be thicker or something (maybe because I heated them very slowly this time)
Anyway i think they're pretty good and the frustration has faded away ImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

I did them in a stainless steel pan on the gas stove with a small piece of brass inside, low flame and lifting away from the heat a bit to hold the different colour stages a bit longer

I think the bin bin hands are worth the trouble, tricky to get the hang of it but I'm certainly glad i kept at itImageImage
