Shipping risks

Post by nje2791 »

Can I ask a question about shipping risks to get the input of more experienced members? I appreciate that a seller will generally always indicate that the buyer assumes all risks but can anyone share their experience of homages going missing in the post or being stopped by customs? Is there a greater risk involved when items leaving the EU or US postal regions that they will run into customs issues? If this issue is better addressed by PM then I'd be grateful to hear from anyone who can shed some light.

I have done dealing with this forum nearly 100 times and never lost a package.
We should always be cautious about customs seizure, but it has never been seized.

BTW,
I always suggest risk sharing in sales.
If the item I sold is lost or seized, I will refund half of the money I received.
but I have never had such a problem,
I believe this condition is fair because dealing with HF brothers is a hobby, not a business.

Never had any issues regarding seized parts or watches.

I have lost one years ago and I know that three were lost on the way to me.

I have shipped around 2000 parcels since 2009.

Thanks to all who responded to this question.

I appreciate that something untoward could still occur during the process, but it gives me a bit more confidence about diving in on purchases.

The suggestion by Laer of sharing risk in sales seems fairest although I guess it is up to the individuals involved.
