TimemiT wrote: September 9th, 2019, 12:22 pm So who was it around here??? The guy that paid $1625 and did all of us "240 hoarders" a huge favor!!

Why do you think it did us a favour? :)
Ouch $800+ for how many?

I looked back and I think that I have paid something like $250-$300 for 9 SF240s, worked my way to some, two were a gift. The SW I found yesterday was $100 and I know there is one on the way for approximately that number too.
4 KW and 9 SW, two of them are incastar, three of them are incabloc and the remaining are non incabloc and non incastar. Then there was this parts cabinet which was offered to me a few years back, I think that was in the $200 area and it has helped me convert and repair many movements and will help me to convert the rest of my KW movements before eventually selling them.
I will only keep one non incabloc KW as it is pristine, one incabloc and one incastar, the rest will be sold when I need funds.

 how do you guys find these $200 SW!!?? .. do you visit old lady garage sales?? I bought my first 2 maybe 8 years ago, granted on Ebay .. so I am guilty of this same buying frenzy ... they were about $800 average, some recent ones were $400, for KW Incabloc. However, all of them I've had Jorge refinish, rebrush and convert. With time comes knowledge though ...

Can we assume that most Angelus clocks exist in Europe? I don't think we have any numbers of home many 240 movements were made in those decades ... although it seems a lot if we calculate the numbers and years of production.

I meant $250-$300 for them all, plus $100 for the one yesterday and possibly $100 for one in the near future.
That makes a comfortable average.

You really are! I actually think that the first SF240 I repaired was one of yours. When was that, 8-9 years ago? I remember staff work, hairspring work and some TLC.

The funny thing is that I have never been hunting these, they just seem to float my way for some odd reason. I receive a link to an auction or a member wants to trade for work or parts.

I remember that I wasn't much of a fan to begin with, but now I really like them. Even old dogs can learn to sit.

I think most of us here and in the US troll the same auction sites and such ... so the prices remain steady on those items. Any time a seller pops up a 240 (for a low price) they will most likely get an immediate email from some one around here (or in Asia  ) ... "Hey there ... how about a quick sale of this mangled and rusted old clock?"
