It goes back way further than Ebay for me, that was the trick they used back in the 80s when I first got into watches. I bought my first pocket watch at the ripe old age of 14. And that was a LONG time ago...
Bought a vintage watch, and then what?

Now where was that video you posted in HF1.Tanukjaju wrote:Serviced on eBay is as good as Pompe oiling the rotor on an auto movement.

oh yes I experience the same way like you all. more worse are some ppl calling their self master of watch making and selling cheap services on ebay. I send their ones a movement for service, as I starr this hobby. after 6 times I send it their again, the movement never works well and I decided to get me all I needed for it, studdy about it and do it my self. the good think was I only paid the cost to send 6 times to him.
My conclusion since that, every use or old movement I buy for ebay I give a new service

Great way to scare the rest of us who lack the skills and talent. I wear all of my watches, especially the vintage ones. Luckily for me, most of my watches get serviced by Unreformed.
