Yes, I believe it is genuine ... this calibre is Panerai way to totally breaking from using ETA movements. It is what would be the replacement of the 6497 that Panerai used in most base models. The P6000 is a 3-day movement, most basic finish and is used in those crappy and cheapest models that have a "snap on" caseback!

This is an easily cloneable movement ... but the Rep factories already produce a decent 3-day clone of the P3000, I doubt they would stoop to creating a clone P6000 ... it's just not profitable. And since these Panerai models are not all popular, they would not care to do so.

Re: Interesting eBay Auctions
It's not that appealing in my opinion, nor is the P3000.
To me, it's the Rolex 618, Angelus SF240 or nothing if I were to spend a lot of money on the real deal, or a homage.
When I think of it, I would rather have a homage than a gen, that way I would know what I have under the hood.
In the end, it can only show the time.

Re: Interesting eBay Auctions
It is a nice movement ... p2002/9. ... 3 barrel with and 8+ day PR
but those new hour/min wheels that Panerai is using are big (as in diameter of CP)
may be difficult to find ... or find something large and broach them?
