Re: Pam homage history
I didn't see a "new poster or welcome" page, so I hope it's ok if I introduce myself here as I want to mention a bit of history.
I caught the Panerai bug way back in 2005-2006 when I purchased a gen 112G and discovered Paneristi dot com. I was a frequent poster for years using the handle OldSkool112. Back in the day, I became friends with Kevin Rogers (aka Adeeos, RIP) and actually talked Kev into making me some custom long straps as he and I shared the same passion, straps with looong tails. Shortly after, Kev paired with Bruce (BigB) and started selling these glorious ammo straps. I later bought a 6152-1 rep from Kev and had him fit it to my late grandfathers Hamilton 921 movement to create a homage honoring my Grandfather and it always makes me smile as it's a piece of him that I wear on special occasions. Unfortunately, Kev's passing interrupted the final revisions on the watch and I actually just discovered this forum while searching for a trusted watchmaker that could hopefully retrofit a better dial, hands, crystal, and crown guard than I currently have now. As a new poster, I don't believe that I can post a pic yet, but hopefully soon I can show you what I have.
Thanks for reading and apologies if this is not in the correct forum.
Cheers.
