interesting pattern, looks like it was made by some rotating eccentric sharp bit,, if not mistaken. material looks like soft one, is it aluminum, if not secret of cause?

I hand graved the dial myself using the lathe bit. And yes, is aluminium. I drew a first curve line in the dial to have a reference. After that was trying to keep the pattern.
