As the license for 2824 is kind off free now, few companies including t.h. pt (for my taste they make the best clone, the wurst is seagull), experimenting with variations... the finishing is better then eta, the price is one quarter. I talked with general manager few days ago, she showed me few samples. tomorrow will check catalog for this variation number. it is 2824 clone with skeletonized main plate, but bigger diameter. )) by the way, Salita is made in china, but sold as Swiss ))

Bought a 617 without much information available regarding factory / caliber , i just loved the looks.
On a positive note, it's the only variant that is titanium + dlc and sapphire.
On a negative note, after winding it, setting time, it felt VERY different to any of my beloved 6497 variants.
Went to the watchmaker, as the readings on the phone app were all over the place, and got a little shock when the P.3000 v4 clone was hiding inside :)

Clueless how to regulate a caliber that when fully wound runs 1 minute slow a day, then on the second-third day runs fast.
Damned shitty quality mainsprings in the two barrels.

I guess i will just have to check it's power reserve, pay attention to how many crown winds i need to get to full / half , and regulate it for how it behaves when i wear it for a day.

Interesting, thank you.
I know PT 5000, I had 2 pc, but I’ve not been totally convinced by quality.
I’ve read that PT was using different factories to have these produced,
also, buying from Aliexpress, these could be fakes …

As for Seagul ST2130, I’ve probably tested 10 pcs, and was happy with finishing and accuracy.
Here again, there is a lot of fakes… which may explain your bad experience.

As for Swiss movements being produced in Asia, no surprise there.
Some ETA 2824 and 6497 main plates are produced in VN !

If you are HK based, then you are close to the source 😊
Please share PT website and catalog if you can.

agree, seagull has different qualities and price level. I didn't have bad experience, I just have few samples from seagull "normal line" and new product looks like after "servicing", has minor scratches and polished corners on sandblasted surface. it is not effect on beat much, but you can see the "culture" of some production managers. while other movements for 50usd from other factories look perfect under microscope.
Hangzhou factory produce for many small brands and they can do stunning quality depending on the price and quantity, sure seagull also. China investing not only in equipment but also in pro human resources, so we can see big improvement.
