Hi I am a neewbie saying hello and a little about myself .

Hi, my name is Jeff (pondoro) have been on the site for a few weeks now. I Like what I see and the politeness of the members towards each other. My interest is primarily in the early Panerai when they were in Firenze, this I know now. Many years ago, I saw on the internet a picture of a 3646 with bronze case and California Dial, it had major patina on the watch and the strap. It was love at first site, however when I clicked on the picture no other information was available. I did not know what watch it was or who made it. Years rolled by, and I read about Sly Stallone and his interest in Panerai.Then I saw Schwarzenegger also had one, the watches look very familiar to the one I saw on the internet. Now I had a name and did some researching on to find out I could not afford a Panerai.I studied the brand and learned about Richmont group and saw it was badge engineering and this led me to the Perezscope blog .Now I have found the watch I always wanted and the blog talked about the HF group. Boy did I find a treasure chest, I can now get a handmade Panerai watch how I wanted it, without taking out a mortgage. The watches on the forum were replications in the original Italian theme and made by true enthusiasts of the art. I have no interest in the modern Panerai offerings even if they were on $1000 a piece. I have Purchased 2 watches from KPOY and he gave me two beauties. Well, a little about me I am happy to be here, I come from London England and live in NY USA for thirty years. I was hired by an American Machine tool company as a CNC service engineer in NY. My initial training was at Hawker Siddeley Aviation where they made the Hawk, Hunter and the Harrier Jump Jet VTOL. I have many interests, motorcycling, analog photography, Leather work, carpentry, and a few other things. I am also an avid reader and a sponge for knowledge. I look forward to being a solid member and hopefully you guys can elevate me with your knowledge. Be well Excelsior. Jeff out.

Welcome to HF Jeff! That’s an excellent career you’ve got, as an illustrator & industrial designer I’m jealous! The Panerai bug bites deep. I used to say that if they were half the price I’d buy two, but now that I’ve been learning the dark arts of watchmaking, I don’t think I’d get a thrill from a modern one unless I had to restore it from horrible abuse or was modding it into something else. Lots of amazing people here and excellent resources. I’ve learned more here than I could have ever hoped for and I’ve barely scratched it.

What bikes do you ride? I’ve got a few in the garage but my main is a BMW R1200c. It’s a bit of an odd one, but it rides like a dream. Just got it out of the shop after not riding much for a few years (Covid had me weary of getting anywhere near an emergency room).

Hi , Hypnogagia thank for your posting, I ride a 1985 GL 1200 ltd Gold Wing which I keep running myself .I am also working on an Iron Head Harley 1000cc . I have cut off the gearbox and I will be using a softail 5 speed. The Frame will be hardtail 20" front wheel. I owned 2 Beemer airheads an R80RT and a R45 along with many other bikes.
