Re: Hello form Nejad
Welcome back! Motorcycles and watches seem to go together in my experience.
I first found this forum, or some iteration of it through watchuseek a dozen or more years ago. It was right around the time Helson started up I think. I’ve always had an Angelus 240 Panerai as a grail, and at the time it was beyond grail because they only existed in auction houses and private collections. Seeing what was unfolding in the watchbuilding space was mind blowing. I’m also a motorcycle loon, and I’ve been bastardizing motorcycles into cafe racers for ages. Seeing the same sorts of things done with watch bits that I was doing with motorcycles got me hooked.
I was only an occasional lurker in the watch modding forums, all of my resources and time went into motorcycles, but it was amazing seeing it all come together. I promised myself that I’d get into watch modding at some point, and that point was the plague. Summer of 2020 I started buying tools to fix a couple of microbrand watches I had and the next thing I knew I was in deep!
This forum is amazing! The amount that I’ve learned just in the last few years makes my head hurt sometimes, and my wife thinks I’ve lost my mind. I can’t wait to see where this scene goes in the coming years with all of the new tech, parts and tools available.
