DIY Question: No date set lever

Post by Mir36 »

I only recently became aware that Chinese 2824s are low beat (21600bph). This opens up possibilities for budget vintage builds. I’m currently trying to convert several of these from date to no-date. Is the part below called a set lever? And what would be the no date part name for a 2824?

I’m planning to order a few parts from CousinsUK. Thanks in advance.

Wonder if you could smooth out the teeth with a file to match to no date shape....

I see what you mean. But I think it needs a more pronounced hump for no date? But worth a try. Thank you

Found it. It’s twice the price of a 3-function setting lever :silent:

I think Geoffdragon is onto it. If you file the second hump down, the yoke spring should push it right into the setting position. It might end up with a bit of slack and not feel as snappy.
I keep adding airplane parts to my motorbike but it still doesn’t fly
