Then, pressing the insert in the bezel:
Standing out 1mm from the bezel surface so next time is sanding belly down over tamiya sanding sponges so circular movements and pressure give it a sexy curved surface:

Then, pressing the crystal, making the dial, luming, ageing hands, etc…
Result is my definition of what a homage should be.
Lots of time, investment, waiting, trial and error but in the end a sense of doing justice to all that was spent.
The only part where I feel I had failed roundly was in giving it wrist time.
