It looks like a gen, but there is something I can't put my finger on....
Movement is definitely gen, I think dial and hands are as well. The whole thing is most likely gen.
Which calibre, 5XX?

Hmm - I think it may be a fake or at least some modding has happened to make it more Milsub-esque.
The definitive resource on the seamaster 300s is https://www.omegaseamaster300.com/
They make no reference to having fixed lugs on the case or a T circled on the dial.
The engravings on the caseback seem a little off to me too, the broad arrow is a slightly different shape and overall it looks almost too modern if that makes sense.
The bezel insert could be genuine but could also be one listed under their 'Rogues' section - you may need to examine more than I did.
Overall its a cool watch and I'd be more than happy with it in my collection!
If they are thinking of selling drop me a PM with a price

Its not gen,its a Vietnam case, no pearlage inside the case back and the lug holes on the gen are closer to the ends of the lugs
Dial is also a Vietnam one ,another tell is the bezel insert,on this early font with a straight number one on the 10 only the numbers are lumed, on this one the long hash lines are also lumed,
The 6 and 9 on the dial are also not as open as gen and on the original the t on the dial is stamped on much less perfectly, also there should be no minute lines/markers behind the lume plots,
These rep dials are commonly referred to as a stubby dial because of the short lines
The hands are also fake and the military model was fitted with a screw down crown
Case is also fatter on the crown side on the gen (ayssymetrical)
Case backs are also standard case backs with the seahorse and text sanded down and then stamped by the MOD and the old text can often be seen to varying degrees

I really like the old Seamaster a lot! Gen or not… I‘d wear it to pieces

I am pretty slow and only today I realised that the Seamaster 300 was safe for 300 meters and the Seamaster 120 was safe for 120 meters.....
