Newcomer from South Africa

Morning guys, and hello to everybody!

I used to build Cobra replicas from crude in the beginning to very sophisticated and authentic in the end.

My homage watch has a 616 Cortebert in a 3646 replica housing with screw-in lugs. True to myself, I aim to get a more authentic version one day. Perhaps even a real 3646 Kampfschwimmer. I always loved the sterile dial to keep people guessing. And I love historic, robust things.

In Cobra parlance, mine would have the wrong chassis, yet with a 427 engine (616), but not the 427 side-oiler (618 movement) race version.
There are other areas which can also be improved, but I see to that later.

The builder of my watch (shame on me, I subcontracted!) did a lovely job overall. So good that I already bought a second one.

Welcome!

I do like the sterile 3646 watches too, specifically the ones with resin filled dials.

Here we go. Unfortunately the wind up pin came out yesterday, but it's with an 83-year old watch maker for repair.

I will change the buckle to brass, nickle plated and aged a bit.
