Bronze turtle

Post by kilowattore »

I swear this is the last SRP turtle!!! Well at least it's one of the nicest I built so far...

This is my second bronze Seiko build. There seems to be a good selection of CuSn8 case sets that should not be confused with bronze alloy or similar cheap plated stuff.
This case is just great, awesome finish, awesome construction, domed sapphire crystal... and then material looks just like my PAM 382. A lot of value for your buck imho.

In order to complete this build nicely I have choosen some special parts: a black gilt dial from dialmaker with golden indices cream lume and golden inscriptions is matched with gilt datewheel and golden hands. Bezel insert is made of pure bronze as well and has been painted by me.

The right strap to finish this watch off was this dark brown padded leather strap, inexpensive but comfortable. If I decide to keep this in my collection I will probably upgrade it later.

This is just beautiful, I enjoy the Seiko modding community and this is a great example of why.

I think this combo came out pretty nice but it sure is quite easier to buy a dial than to fabricate your own from scratch :)
