A Grand Seiko Snowflake Homage

Post by hako »

The GS Snowflake is just a beautiful watch. The fantastic dial, the spring drive,...
And I always wanted one, but of course Seiko is also asking for some Dollars for their perfection

Then, after ASCIWhite posted his Seiko Sub Homage, I found myself on Lucius Atelier's homepage and much to my surprise they were offering Snowflake dials. :o
I was smitten.
If not the original, a decent homage would really be something.

So, what's in it?
Lucius Atelier's Snowflake dial, of course and their brushed GS hands with blue central second hand. A slight departure from the original, but they sure look good and add a sportier touch.
As case I used Lucius Atelier's 39 mm Explorer case. I searched high and low for a case closer to the GS-form, but in vain. At least the Explorer case has a very nice curving reasonably close to a GS. The chamfer is missing, though. Case quality is top-notch!
For movement a standard NH36 from Aliexpress and a decent brown real croc strap from Trendart-24.

Now on to the pics.

This one‘s super nice - I don’t mind the Explorer case at all... the powdery dial is a stunner!

Thx for your kind comments

And indeed, there is always a drain to let your money go down; but who cares, as long as you get something beautiful out of it
