In case you haven't come up with the trick already.

I will probably loose a customer or two because of this....

Setting the chronograph hand, press the reset button at four o'clock and the center wheel arbor is locked in position. That way you will always be able to set the hand exactly to 12 o'clock.

You will need a movement holder with pushers.
