For you who have been around for a while and for you who may not know, old Hamilton 10 size dials (for 917, 921, 923 and 945) were made of silver and the numerals/dots were made of gold. Hands were plated.

Don't throw them away, scrap the bad ones and keep the perfect one(s).

Yet another pretty obvious example that the American made Hamilton movements were extremely well made and the quality was out of this world. To me, anything after this is simply not as good as it once was.

LOL! I decided to not having all these dials here in boxes for no reason, so I picked the most damaged dials and separated the dials and numerals and sold the gold and silver separately. I have kept the ten perfect ones.

I finally got around to test the dials and numerals from Hamilton and E. Howard.

The thing is that the numerals and dots from the Hamilton dials were a bit uneven towards the end of production and must be classified as 14 K, the dials were later on made out of a composition with not much silver in them. It's a hit and miss.

There is always a but, the E. Howard dials on the 12 size watches were solid silver all the way to the end of production.
