As in the brass washer that sits on top of the minute wheel :)
I’m always short of these and need to buy a bag. Anyone know of a source besides Ofrei and Cousins?

Does anyone have experience with not using these, i.e. assuming the dial sits tight to the movement is it ok not to use one?

Thanks in advance.

It sits on the hour wheel. LOL!

Anyway, normally the dial would keep the hour wheel in place, combined with the minute hand holding everything down. A dial washer is often used as a service part, sometimes to protect the dial and possibly for other reasons.
Skeleton movements and dials don't have a dial washer for the same reason.

I never use them myself.

Are you looking for dial washers for any particular movement?

Haha. Hour wheel! :) It’s late here.

Thanks Yoda! Glad to hear I can live without these :)

I found a stash of 6497 movements I forgot I had, so I just oiled them up and put on some dial plates and hands to test performance. I was missing this washer for all but one.

I’ve ordered these, from the same seller I believe :)

But what they sent was for 28xx movements. None were big enough for 6497s.

Do a search on pocket watch dial washers as the 6497 is a pocket watch movement

I've looked for those many times over the years and never was able to find any :(. Save for the same one you already found - not for pocket watches.

The solution might be to get some thin brass sheet, I believe .15mm should do and DIY with some hole punches.
