240 & 618 prices on eBay

Ok, so I'm starting a new list. (Old list further below.) Updated Aug 19 2018.

Angelus 240s:
Rolex 618/622s: ***

This is a repost, an old thread from our old place that we updated for a few years, 2011-2014. This was the period when the demand for these movements were at its peak, I think. Almost all the 618s on this list are really 622s (the Elinvars), this was before anyone knew the difference, and you won't see 622s fetch $2500 anymore. (On the other hand, a real 618 would probably cost more.) I haven't been watching the market very closely, but my impression is that 240 prices are a bit lower now, I would expect the average stem wound alarm 240 to be maybe $800?

Anyway: I put this list here for its historical value. I would be interesting to restart the thread, start a fresh list, and see what the prices are now. I don't have the time to keep track, but feel free to post prices here when you see them, and I will try to summarize from time to time.

Update, May 2014: It's been a while, I've managed to keep track of some of these the past months, but probably more missed. Anyway, here's an updated list:

Non-alarm stem wind 240: Average price: $2480 (18) Stem wind 240 with alarm: Average price: $1168 (70) Rolex 618: Average price: $2441 (35)

Yeah, though they should keep in mind: With the exception of real 618s (not 622s, not converted 616s) and real non-alarm 240s (not converted alarms or key winds, and especially those with curved barrel bridge and brushed or wide côtes de Genève), I believe prices in general are lower today. Again, it would be interesting to start this fresh and find out.

Great foursome.

I picked up a singlet recently but it was keywind for a decent price. Things seem to have settled down a bit since Lee stopped buying :P :lol:
