I received a rather rare watch, it was sent to me with TNT and it must have cost a fortune to ship......

Conversation was straight forward, no problems and no questions, a complete restoration and overhaul, movement, case, dial, hands, I even had to make/bake a new plexi as it was a 311, not even numbers like 310 or 312 as they usually are......weird form as well.

24 hours into the project and I received an email, "put the project on hold until I know what I want, return it and tell me what I owe you"....

It really made a crack in my world and my rule kicked in, I never charge anything else than for materials if I can't finish the job.

You out there, I gave you 24 hours of my life and I hope that you will rot in hell. Not long ago I could have taken yours in less than a minute.

Oh dear... Did he at least let you take photos of the watch and share it?

Time is precious, and it is unfortunate he wasted some of yours...

Speaks for your ethics that you didn’t charge for the labor you put in! I don’t think I could have held it that way... if it’s my fault the work isn’t done to satisfaction, I‘ll do the same. If my customer wastes my time by indecision or lack of communication I usually charge every little second I put in.
I think he/she should in return insist on paying you!

Too late imo. Instruction to halt came after work had been done- payment due...

I would try to see the positive side: he is "one of those" and now you have not to worry about more issues with him in the future.

In any case, make him pay the due according to the agreements made before.

I have removed him from my list, no more work for that one. Yes, he is a member here and I am an admin, so......haha!
