Leather

Seeing all these great straps made me wonder how you take care of them.
First of all, before using your strap for the first time, treat it with a high quality leather conditioner.
Wipe it with a wet cloth on regular basis and let it dry.
Leather will not benefit from sweat, cleaning products, saltwater and other liquids. It will rot and deteriorate over time, crack and go to pieces.
Do not treat the leather too often, it will also destroy it, it is time when it feels dry.
I have seen straps being completely destroyed after only a year or two, so please do take a few minutes now and then and you will see the greatest patina.
My oldest strap is from 1994 and it still looks like it was just bought.
