Seems that the former owner greased the hairspring to avoid squeaky noise. LOL!

A mild acid solution to remove surface rust from other parts, oil and grease disappeared and the hairspring is clean as a whistle now, at least it looks that way.
All other parts only needed the ordinary cleaning solution.
Everything looks like new and I expect it to work like new when I have put everything together tomorrow.

The green stuff looks like 2-stroke engine fuel oil

The oil/grease contained acid and really did affect the surface, but cleaning and a bit of buffing removed almost everything.
A new mainspring will complete the resurrection from the grave.

Amazing resurrection. It’s great to see these movements being saved from time, neglect or the well-intentioned (but perhaps unhelpful) efforts of former owners/restorers.
