Hi Guys
Please read the review and be nice…ha-ha….All publicity is good – I think, I hope.
One thing I will say is while the QC at Seagull is not top drawer. Just do the maths (yes for me it is maths….ha-ha)…if I discard 30% of the movements then, the cost per movement increases 42.8%.
The Seagull 2892-A2 is far more expensive then the Miyota 9015 and the Seiko and the equal of the ETA2892-A2 when we weed out the bad eggs.
The Seagull 28292-A2 is a good movement and the ones we send out were good as we stopped the bad ones.

Re: Ablogtowatch Review OWC Bond
I’ve read through a few comments and I just have a few comments to make....
- cosmetics I won’t comment on. That’s a matter of preference and I’ve had people critique what I thought as my personal favorite builds as ugly and disproportionate.
- However I have handled / lived with Dan’s watches (both the early and later ones) and these are a significant notch above any Kickstarter watch in sturdyness ...and there is enough features that aren’t off the shelf that I know add to development costs that cannot be fully appreciated till you handle the watch.
- comments like ... only Rolex should use Mercedes hands makes me want to say that only Mercedes should use Mercedes hands. Cause that will lead to comments like only blancpain is allowed to use rotating bezels...since I believe they were first.....as the Rolex fanboys run for cover.
one thing I personally agree is that a seagull at $1000 is a tougher sell
even though I am a fan of (vintage) Squales.. their development costs are basically 0 and all they are doing is changing dials, colors, bezel inserts and hands, and stuffing that in cases that you will see many hundreds of.
So if you are a fan of unique one off watches watches..or low volume timepieces, this would be a better bet than most other brands out there.
And no, Dan hasn’t bribed me to say this.. I think I just have an appreciation for what he has done for the watch world.

Everything he complains about in the bracelet is what I love. Personal preference, basically he likes a ladies bracelet, I prefer a beefier mens version like you have included with the watch.

Re: Ablogtowatch Review OWC Bond
Agree, the beefy bracelet is one of the selling points...
The comments left at the end of the article are shitty. Complaining about the value of an homage and the cost of the watch, etc. A bunch of snobby douche-bags.

"The case is a bit on the thick side at 12.9mm thick " - this, I found funny, but fine, it's his opinion. Overall that is a very positive review, so congrats. I didn't ready the comments.

Why oh why did I scroll through the comments. The ignorance and close mindedness on display is disheartening.

Agreed. Reminds me of the saying. Money can’t buy class. Happy to call this place home even though our hobby is sometimes considered the armpit of this hobby world.

Re: Ablogtowatch Review OWC Bond
Thanks guys - much appreciated.
Honesty and objectivity with a little personality thrown in....I am good with that.
But I know I cannot please all the people all the time or any of the people any of the time - or whatever it is.
I do my best with what is available at the time. I make assumptions and decision. The next one will be better - that is my goal.
Just buy the bloody thing, so my wife gets off my back....ha-ha...
(The bands are stuck in customs - so I cannot even crow about these - who would like one to review it? - first to email me with their address will get it - foxint@foxint.com.au).
