Need help with value of a piece

Hey fellow vintage watch nuts. Been talking to a local collector, who I deal with often. This guy is very knowledgeable and has a crazy collection. But still need to be careful with him.

Working on a trade and this is what I’m looking at.

Longines Ultra-chron, original bracelet, signed crown. He said it’s from 1971.

I have two issues

1. I’ve been looking online and I don’t see them with this bezel, the all have red markings on the ones I saw, is this bezel a replacement or is it the early version as he claims?

2. What is the approximate value of this piece?

I’m meeting this guy up later today and would love to know these things before I do.

Thank you in advance my HF brethren.

Yep, been on eBay. Again I don’t see any with this bezel.

Could it be that it's simply faded? On my display I do see a pink hue (could be the lighting though). Other than the color the bezel looks identical.

I've seen some worn and faded bezels, and there are some with little / almost no red in them.
Maybe it came into contact with some sort of chemical etc. which ate the red away before the black...

This is the closest in fading I found:

Now that you guys mentioned it, it could be faded. I’m about to trade about $1k worth of watches for it and trying to figure out if this has a greater or equal value to that. IMO it does. And I’m going to try to make the deal today.

+1 on what yoda said.

Bezel font looks right but make sure it’s Bakelite. Also check that the strap is OEM and not too tired.

A dealbreaker would be if the bezel isn’t Bakelite. Take a blue light along to check that the lume is original and fades fast too and not reworked.

I’m still closer to $800 if you plan to sell it down the road.

Also make sure it has the correct movement in it.

Thank you guys. He claims it’s worth at least $1200 and that ones without the original bracelet are selling for over that. I would be trading two watches that are $800-$1k in value. And of course I’m trading so I can enjoy for a bit and then sell/trade for something else. So resale value is important.

eBay is in the $1000....obo range. Take away 12% and it’s under $900 in his pocket. That said too, the eBay ones seem a bit more shiny. Original bracelet.

I wouldn't go over 800 bucks, as mentioned above... Looks pretty y tired... Just my 2 cents
