Neckyzips update

it has been weeks since I’ve talked with him so I reached out to him......

Looks like his shop is closed (for now) and his current work is on pause. I’ll do the cliff notes version.

May... was probably the last time I had a decent length chat with him. He had some projects planned. I was aware that he was in the process of moving from a rented place to building his own shop.

June.... his agreement with his landlord at the rented space ends and is refused a month to month lease ... so he has temporarily stopped working on watches and is only focusing on his new shop.

Some foundation work.

So he tells me... the framing on the 1st floor will be completed.... I say, I thought you had plans for only 1 floor....

Turns out his 1 floor has evolved to 2..... clean room on 2nd floor and machining etc on the 1st.

He then says...speaking of machines.... he just bought a new heavy duty one that can handle stainless.....he needs 16 HF volunteers to help move that.

His current goals.
Framing and sheet rock done over the next couple of weeks. Shooting for a late August to early September move in.

Edit: oh he doesn’t have access to a computer and is checking in about once a week here to answer PMs

Only 16? Count me in! I'll do it for a handful of peanuts... Or even better, some spare watch parts

The machine is 4000 lbs. so 250lbs a member... make sure you eat your spinach and work out before showing up. When he sent me that pic, I thought he had bought a heavy duty sex toy.

Looks interesting, everything! 250 lbs is ok, no problem. Beer and some barbeque and I will show up!

That Monarch looks like a heavy duty thing!

Would it not be easier to build the shop around the Monarch? Just saying.

Great news! That blueprint shows a great space and damn, that is a sexy beast of a machine.

I think the 16 HF members can pitch in, rent a crane  ... and spend the rest of the time shooting the breeze and drinking lemonade.
