On a GMT watch should all of the hands line up at midnight or at noon?
Is there a standard that I can reference online to settle a bet?

There should be four positions of the stem:
Position 1 - closed, ready to wear and the only waterproof position.
Position 2 - used to manually wind the watch.
Position 3 - Quickset, used to quickly move the hour hand as well as the date, 24-hour hand doesn't move.
Position 4 - used to set the minute hand and 24-Hour hand, hour hand may move as well but ignore that.

I am sure there are a lot of stuff to read about it out there. Not sure if the hands should line up, never had a GMT of my own and haven't needed one.

I have always been living in the now, no need for dual time.

The positions on the Sellita 330 are different which was messing me up. Position 3 is a combo date/gmt set depending on which way crown is turned.

A true fixed GMT ... all the hands should line up at Midnight

At Noon (12P) .. all the hands line up at 12 .. however the fixed GMT hand should be on the 12 Hours marker of the bezel

This is old school settings ... like a 1675

newer movements allow you to adjust the GMT hand to act like a 2nd Time Zone hand.

On the Breitling Longitude the GMT hand can be hidden behind the regular hour hand so it moves in sync as the normal hour
