A strange issue....

Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean with a calibre 8500.
Everything works fine, that's the problem!
I noticed that there is no cap jewel and spring on the balance cock, but the movement runs as good dial up as it does dial down!?
Normally a movement would stop if the cap jewel is missing, so what is going on?
Ideas?

I'm still a young Jedi, so I cannot help but I find it interesting.

It’s called a Jedi Mind trick... you are slipping Master Yoda.

Completely! Now that you mention it, I have been thinking about working on watches for the rest of 2019 and sell it all around end of November.
Tools, watches, movements, parts, accessories, some unrestored staking sets, an unrestored lathe, a pantograph and so on.
I made a list in case, my daughter has a copy and my spouse will have one, a complete specification and value.
I can easily see myself not being able to help when ticking stuff isn't working.
I will let you know, don't worry.

That is a great idea. I have a few things around here that would go for pennies if you didn't know any better. I could also see some of them ending up in the trash.

I was forced to do it, my spouse had no idea and my health made her pop the question.

Well don't give up quite yet M, I think you've still got a lot of years left in you. My wife has asked me several times what to do
with "all this stuff" if something happens to me. She's 12 years younger than I am and knows she'll get stuck with it all someday...
As for the mystery of the running movement with no jewel, I'm at a loss. It ought to run like crap or not at all.

Keep it as a hobby Michael... I would suggest keeping the things you use and keep chugging along till your passion ceases.
