Any experience with Jules Borel?

Hello guys!

I was looking around in the internet for the plexi crystal replacement for my 5513 Submariner and found a good GS PA 462-20A. I placed an order because the price was ok and shipping cost of 12,50 $ to Germany is acceptable. Couple hours later I got an Email from Regennina Rios (probably the employee) that „request
that all international orders be a minimum of $40 in value. Adding 1 or 2 small items to the
order will still make it possible for us to ship for the minimum cost. The shipping would be via
the post office in a padded envelope.
“. Hm.. what?? There is not information about international orders in their terms or FAQ to find, so it seems weird to me.

So did anyone of you guys have had some business with them?

Never, I would not even think of ordering from some of these sellers. Strange business behaviour and crappy selection.

The same thing with the company which bought Past Time Pocketwatch Parts, Esslinger, they have some weird rules as well.

I rely on more friendly sellers.

Jules Borel is a decent size parts seller just like Ofrei and Cousins ... the issue is that shipping outside the USA with tracking it very expensive ... most these companies will not ship without it, so that they avoid getting charged back in case the buyer claims that the package was lost ... it can be sent very cheaply, first class ... but then no tracking

I just placed a small order with Cousins last week, shipped in 24 hours. This is my 3rd order with them, never had an issue, customer service is great. I usually buy my crystals from them.

I am after special crystal which only often and julesborel will be offered. It seems that GS crystals are more accurate than sternkreuz or Clark’s but the shipping is the issue for most of them.

So can I claim about shipping if it’s not mentioned in the terms or is is complicated?

Most businesses will have a minimum to offset costs of packaging etc.

For me. If someone orders a $2.00 part. I'm not running to the PO to mail it right away. It would get sent when I have to go with added orders or I need something at the plaza where their located.

I've ordered from Borel, but not for a good while. Either recent or only for international orders although I'm in Canada

Could also try Perrins in Toronto, but check and see if they have a minimum
