Woo hoo!! I keep watching the post box every day. Australia Post has now redeployed its letter delivery workforce and put them on parcel delivery. But not many overseas planes getting through yet.
I notice you have caught the bug.... what does your collection look like now? What else is in the plans?

Well, I am only starting out small and steady. I’m waiting on a bronze 3646 display back case from an eBay seller in Germany which will take a 6497 movement. Add a dial and hands and that will be my first attempt at putting together a watch (I don’t say build at this stage). Ebay has become an addiction. I did also buy a very cheap Cortebert pocket watch being sold in Australia (normally everything needs to come from overseas) - I was the only bidder and haven’t seen the movement. What are the chances it contains a 616? The case is gold filled and it has an inscription on the back dated 1959.

Took a gamble. No idea what’s inside. Any guesses?

Non alarm to begin with, but the hands doesn't reveal anything of the usual stuff inside..
No idea after my last guess, but curious to see.

I don't recognize the back of the movement as Angelus, not the crown either, at least it is not something I have seen before.
Interesting to see what it is.
I’m a little optimistic because of the location of the regulator window. We will see Monday or Tuesday when she arrives.
I know it isn’t a rectangle 8 day for sure nje2791
