I got it the same way like you,I think it is because you life in a region the seller does not sell. I life in germany and if I look on ebay.com I see them and also can watch it, but not buy it. I have to communicate with the seller to offer it to my region.VanSong wrote:Sometime I wonder why all these listing never show up in my searches! Perfect summary; I 100% agree on thistafari wrote: ↑June 26th, 2019, 2:34 amyou are right, its a lot of work.RideInStyle wrote:The price is what it is and it's fair considering the tooling costs and the amount of work for doing the new bridges.
A good C616 movement nowadays is around 350-400 USD, servicing costs are about 150-200 USD.
It seems that nobody else could do this kind of work and sell it for a profit.

Re: Interesting eBay Auctions
Well, you don't need to buy one.djolemag wrote: ↑June 26th, 2019, 4:06 am It is still unreasonably high price.
The question is how is movement really working, are all jewels fine, are pivots polished, what is the state of hairspring, what about MS, power reserve, isochronism, what are positional error results?
Personally, those facts are more important to me than aesthetic finish.
CdG is really awesome finish, tools and work with them are tricky stuff, that is truth, period.
However, for this price you could/should expect NOS movement....
I have few cort movements, 622, 620r, 592 etc, not aesthetically perfect but looking quite good. Hence, all of them are working very very well...

Stating that they are overpriced and assuming that they won't work is not right and certainly not fair.
I have several builds from Jorge and they all working flawless.

I was going to buy it a few days ago, but I have my hands full right now. Someone else can enjoy the journey of converting.

Re: Interesting eBay Auctions
How do I tell on a Angelus clock if it has a 240 movement or something cheaper like a 190 when the clock movement is not shown?
