Re: Interesting eBay Auctions
I know they are Russian movements, but they they should be based on Cortebert, according to what I’ve read.tafari wrote:its a Molnija 3602, a russian movementbmsm wrote:Is this based at the cort 616 or 620?

Yes, they are based on 620. Not 616. Earliest Molnijas are as almost identical to 620 - later they were modified...bmsm wrote: ↑May 12th, 2019, 8:30 amI know they are Russian movements, but they they should be based on Cortebert, according to what I’ve readtafari wrote:its a Molnija 3602, a russian movementbmsm wrote:Is this based at the cort 616 or 620?

Re: Interesting eBay Auctions
If you are very, very lucky and find one from the earliest batch of 1947, they even have chatons. But those are really rare. The ones before 1950 have narrow CDG. Production dates are engraved on the plates (Quarter/year).

FYI I am bidding on this one! Dibshako wrote: ↑May 12th, 2019, 6:39 amThere is the legend that Cortebert sold their 616 production equipment to Stalin and that this turned into the Molnija watch production facility.bmsm wrote: ↑May 12th, 2019, 5:06 am Is this based at the cort 616 or 620?

The ISKRA is a high precision Molnija movement which sports some extras compared to the regular Molnija.
They are nice movements and look great in a watch.
And they are relatively cheap.
But the advertisement at eBay is certainly quite exaggerated as far as the movement pedigree is concerned.
Even if the legend is true the movement has seen quite some changers as opposed to the first Molnijas from 1947
