What are you working on now?

Normally I convert pocket watches into wristwatches by taking the movement, the dial and the hands.
This time I made an OMEGA Frankenwatch. Since the OMEGA 960 movement (based on a 6497) can’t be used in a wristwatch (crown at 03:00 and sub seconds at 06:00), I took a similar 6498 one.

Nice work as always D !

What are you using the 960 for ? Geneve variant has the simple almost undecorated version ( just a distinctive " button " with the details ).

I love to have all sorts of different decorated 649x variants in my builds, but i draw the line at using an Omega ( i have two gorgeous 960 ) or any Zenith 23.0 / 23.1 for Panerai builds. Never came across any Longines L506.2 or L512 so far.

Some day in the future interesting cases will become available and custom high quality dials, i am keeping them for that period.

Yes, you are right… when it comes to OMEGA Geneve pocket watch (with a 960 movement) I have to draw the line, too!

Prices for this pocket watch with a dial in excellent condition and good running movement have sky-high prices….. between 390-900€ 🫣

So, since I didn’t want to use this movement neither for my pocket watch conversion (reason see above) nor for any Panerai build, I decided to find a pocket watch with a dial in pretty new condition and a brocken movement.

By the way, I found a seller (from Switzerland) who offered me two NOS OMEGA Geneve dials which will arrive next days. (He has another 2-3 dials available, diameter ~40,9 mm and can be used on a 6498 movement) therefore project like this can be affordable. Image

Looking forward to seeing the dials when you receive them.
In the past, swiss parts seller was offering customized dial like the one in the picture, but it's no longer a service they provide.
It's a friend's watch, he built it quite a few years ago.
Included pics of his Zenith 23.1 with cotes the geneve , searched for one for a long time, no joy.

I have seen a lot of so called “marriage” watches where the dials were made especially for the builds and weren’t gen.
This isn’t what I am looking for. But that's a matter of taste.

The dials which I bought are NOS OMEGA Geneve pocket watch dials:

(If you like to buy one, ask the seller for a better price before Image)

Good stuff .
Here are mine two.
I don't plan to use the dials, bored of plain white and bored of conventional cases.
I am sure in the future i will have interesting options available for two nice builds.
I want at least one variant with ceramic black dial and gold indices.

The Stowa i bought from you is a great reference point, i adore that watch.
