@shanostyle - Really nicely done! The bronze cases are one of my favorites, and with that movement, beautiful!

Thanks man! I need to get some AR on the crystal to let this sing a bit more.

Hypnogagia wrote: November 26th, 2023, 4:38 pm @Fizzzz - it always feels like finding a cheat code when I find out that I can source compatible parts between different brands. Especially when it means I can add something like shock protection or a new wheel to allow for a seconds hand. I wonder how they did those dials, stamped, engraved? Both?

@matrixxu - that Hamilton is gorgeous!
These dials are stamped, on a 0.8mm thick blank, then plated and pad printed.
I’ll have to reproduce something similar with the laser one of these days.

I wish that finding compatible parts was as easy as finding cheatcodes 😊, but there is far less “documentation” about watch parts.

Since you are talking about adding shock protection I’ve always thought that the one being able to protect H921 balance staff would be rich…

Never expected it to run like this, it was fully serviced, extra decorated, all screws thermal blued, got a NOS original spring fitted.
It has 305 amplitude , runs for 49 hours and 47 minutes and the more accurate timegrapher registers deviations between minimum 0.4 and 1.6 seconds per 24h.
Talking about Hamiltons…

Picked up this Hamilton ‘Wheeler’ 16s movement put into a case when I was really after the other movements in the lot. Apparently there were under 3000 made in total, much less of this 21j.
Gold train, some of the most beautiful decoration I’ve seen. Dial is meh, hand are lovely.
Not sure what to do with it, I have enough projects on at the moment.

That's a gorgeous piece ! The movement sure is great looking.
Total production number for 921 is under 54000 pieces and for 923 is only under 3400 pieces.

@earloflondon - I’m excited to see how this one turns out, looking great! What movement are you thinking of dropping in?

@Ellsthar - literal bootstraps! Awesome!

@Fizzzz - I’m not quite experienced enough yet, but in the future I’m planning to try and add incabloc to a movement that was manufactured without. Drilling and replacing the jewel settings wouldn’t be too tough, but it’ll be a lot of trial and error to figure out which balance staff will work. Still, if it can be done, so many possibilities!

Working on a 1960’s Omega 830, was pretty roasted looking but cleaned up decent. Almost had it all together and the click spring joined the Swiss space program. I’m sure it’ll turn up somewhere obvious in the next week or two. Wanted to get the movement done, so I took a spare setting lever spring for a 6497/8 and with a little trim and some bending was good to go. It’s not pretty, but works great until I find the original.

Well it came as a complete watch. I have not had any plans for the inners, nor did have funds to replace them. So it'll have what it had before

I'm excited too. The pics don't do justice
